James, darling of the local media!

Baby Scans

Once again I am in awe of the miracles of science! In the two years since the ultrascan pictures of James they seem to have refined the technology even further. So I present to you the soon to be, well end of March 2008, latest member of the Reilly family. Unlike the former inhabitant this one obviously knew there was a camera around, and was bouncing all over place!

My Birthday

Thankyou Family for giving me the bestest birthday yet!

I had a fantatsic day out a Brands Hatch, brilliant fun flying round the circuit, first in a Megane Trophy 255 (yes thats 255BHP) and then 11 flying laps in a single seater Formula Brands.

The instructor, Dave, gave me an 85% rating with the comment “Drove nicely, listened and learnt lines and correct use of gears very well. Soon up to speed, confidently and safely”.

My fastest lap time was 1 minute 12 seconds in the single seater.
I got some fantastic presents from everyone, some nice cards and last night I went for a lovely meal with Nicole at Little Italy in Canterbury (Thanks Mum).

It’s mid May already…

…can you believe it!

Not long to go till my birthday (see here for ideas, LOL!). That wonderful day will also see me throwing myself round Brands Hatch in first a Clio 182 then the lunatics are giving me a Formula Brands to play with. Now I must admit for the first time I see this as a double-edged sword, I’m really excited but I’m also absolutely bricking it! Hopefully Nicole, James and Dad will be there to watch the event and capture it in glorious Technicolor.

Whilst I remember, I must thank my Godfather Les for a fantastic night out last month, he took me to see Depeche Mode at Wembley Arena and I must say they were superb! Having liked them before, but not been an avid fan, I have now obtained the back catalogue digitally and they regularly feature in the car, so once again cheers Les.

Talking of Godparents, we are in the process of arranging James’ Christening, which will be held at St Stephens Church in late June. Do check out James’ Website as it has been overhauled and we will put the details up on there.

We are all looking forward to the marriage of Lynn to Ollie next weekend, which we will be attending, good luck guys! Obviously the important parts have happened already; the stag do in Bournemouth and the Hen do in London. Unfortunately I couldn’t attend the second night of the stag do, due to drinking far too much on the first night, nice! However the Hen do which Nicole went to, allowed James and I to do some father/son bonding as I spent my first night alone with him. Amazingly enough we managed to not only survive through the night, but we sprung an impromptu picnic on Nicole after we picked her up (take note lads that’s how you score Brownie points!).

Right well I’m going to leave it there for the moment; Nicole’s already going into shock at the thought of me having updated my site. But do keep checking back as I’m starting to get a bit better at keeping things in line, sort of!

Anyhoo, Bye!

One Big Move!

As always keeping my site up to date has been a bit of a non starter, however by doing this post I am already improving on last year.

Also amongst the myriad of excuses I use, I have yet another; We’ve Moved House - not any easy task with a 3 month old baby. We are now living in Chartham (Here be treasure!) and have been for the past 3 weeks. I tell you this, reader of my site, before I’ve even had time to tell the DVLA or the multitude of other businesses or services I need to notify!

However I made a new year’s resolution to keep this site current and Nicole’s hounding me to make sure I stick by it!

For those wondering why I am being so rude and not answering my phone, it is down to the fact that the bars on my T-Mobile phones say zero, nothing, in fact zilch. So pac code in hand I shall go a shopping for a new phone network soon.

Anyhow, avid readers of my site (all four of you), will be happy to know that I have kept at least the gallery on James’ site up to date, so do check it out. He is growing faster than I can upload pictures, is starting to giggle and grabbed his toe the other day.

For now I bid you adieu, as my tea is getting cold, and Max demands my attention.

New Features

As you can see the site’s had a massive overhaul for ‘06.
The main site is now powered by Wordpress, yes Chud I know it’s technically a blog but it’s the best format for me!
Also I’m trying to keep the gallery up to date. It’s still powered by Coppermine, but I’m starting to use the gallery to its full potential by using its multimedia functions, for example click here to be taken to the mixes my good friend and colleague Matt has created.
And then to finish off I’ve added the family tree section powered by PHP Gedview. This is only fully accessible by logging in to it, which only family will be able to do (if you are family and want to log on and update your details, please register).

Any way feel free to have a mosey around the site tell me what you think.

I’m working on Nicole’s site at the moment, but check out my son James’s site and even the cat’s wired at maxthecat.net!

Another Year…

Another year has passed and once again the website needed updating ‘cause frankly there was bugger all on it!

OK so 2005 was a busy year…

The biggest bit of news, is in fact quite small at the moment, James David Gerald Reilly was born 19 December weighing 8lb 8oz.
He arrived at 21:22 after 41 hours of Nicole being in labour, nearly 22 hours of which was spent in the hospital.
Nicole was absolutely fantastic throughout and was so brave even to the point when we were told she was going to have to have a caesarean section.
Just as we were prepped and ready to go to theatre the consultant, DR W Ibrahim, decided to have one last check and after another half hour James was delivered by forceps.
We were fortunate throughout to have an angel of a midwife, Lindsay Marsh, for around about twelve and a half hours, the entire length of her shift (and some)!

Mother and baby have been home since 21st, so we managed to spend Christmas at home with my parents staying over.

I’ve already started to put together a website for him at jreilly.net

As I said it was a crazy year but it didn’t start there.

New Years Resolution for 2005 was to quit smoking which I managed to do quite well, only smoking when drunk at the monthly team meeting and when drunk back in Canterbury (see a trend).
Unfortunately I went back on the cigarettes briefly in April, after we found out about lil baby, however this spurred me on to call on the NHS and use their stop smoking program. Now I’m doing pretty damn well only smoking when really really drunk!

Next up in January Nicole and I went to New York for her birthday. Flying into the worst cold snap in years we nearly got re-routed to Maine; however we were very lucky to be the last flight allowed into JFK before they closed the airport!
But the fun didn’t stop there, oh no! Having taken 7 hours to get from Heathrow to JFK, it took us 8 hours to get to Manhattan!
However I see this as a good thing as I managed to develop and feed an addiction to chilli dogs, NICE!
The next day was beautiful we went round central park which was covered in 2ft of snow, just like the rest of NY due to a cock up with the snow ploughs.
Over the rest of the week we saw most of the rest of the touristy things in our own non-touristy way, including the Empire State on Nicole’s birthday, ground zero and Intrepid on the coldest day (clever!), Time Square and I went ice skating at Rockefeller Plaza, whilst Nicole whimped out on the side.
Later in the year we went for a week to Alicante, our last relaxing holiday for a while, me thinks!
Also through the year we managed to get for a few good weekends; The Southampton Boat Show, Donington for the Renault World Series weekend, Bryan Adams at Earls Court to name but a few.
Most of the above I’ve taken a good amount of photos of and have either transferred or am in the process of transferring to the gallery.

Who knows what this year will bring but this time my new years resolution is to try and chronicle it better.

So keep checking the site.

Sean
